You can pay monthly, quartely, semi-anually, annually or bienially (in some cases). Except domains, SSL certs or another seconday services (please ask), where the billing cycle is by year.
Remember, when you order anually you will get two months free (this includes web hosting, DV - virtual servers and DS - dedicated servers).
